There are a variety of sayings that have something to do with the concept of learning something new every day. Either people assume you automatically do it, or they suggest that those who don’t aren’t living a fulfilling or successful life.
But how often do we actually take the time to acknowledge that ’something new’? It can’t just be anything, either. We only seem to value that lesson learned which is startling, life-changing, or concrete and useful. The little life lessons string along, invisible, building our experience and our knowledge while we don’t even know it.
This blog is a project. Lately, I’ve been having some issues with finding my silver lining on a daily basis, with a lot of painful focus on negativity in my life. I get upset when things don’t seem good… even when they aren’t necessarily bad, either. So I’ll be using this to record my daily lessons, both to reflect upon the little good things in my life (hey, I’m learning!), and to explore just how effective this method is. Will I feel more informed by consciously recognizing that which I learn on a daily basis? Do we really become more successful, more fulfilled? What can be gained from daily entries, such as this?
As a kid, mom always stressed the importance of your daily vitamin (maybe she still does, like mine). And this is my daily vitamin. To feel healthier and more fulfilled, commenting on my little dose of daily lessons.
